"Wow, what a great restaurant. We have lived in Matthews for 18 years and this was our first time trying this restaurant. The restaurant itself is not fancy or anything, but certainly the food was amazing. Our server Rachel was super kind and happily answered my questions about some dishes on the menu. We ordered 2 dinners, a side of onion rings, 2 teas and they provided rolls and cornbread. All that came out to $34 before tax and tip. How can you beat that for a home cooked meal!! The only thing I wish I knew about the daily specials that were on the board outside. It was turned so you could not see the back and had I known the daily specials, I would have gotten the fried oysters. We only saw that after we left the restaurant. That is ok because my pot roast was delish! We will be back."

"Miki's has great food and delicious cakes too! I love the variety of cake options. Today, one of my favorite cakes was available. The Chocolate Pound Cake! Calling all chocolate lovers and lovers of pound cake. Don't miss out on this wonderful, winning combination. You'll want to savor every bite for as long as you can."

"Homey feel, food was served quickly and was hot. Saw one of my favorite waitresses from the now closed Jimmy's. The restaurant was full but didn't feel "busy" and you were not rushed to finish your meal. We will be back."

"I have been wanting to try here for the longest and finally got a chance to today. What made me come was the fact that they are an old school, home cooking type of restaurant and the menu reflects. I had a taste for hamburger steak smothered in onions and gravy over rice and they definitely delivered. Along with it, I got cabbage, yams, stewed apples and fried squash and they gave me cornbread and rolls. Now the apples could've been seasoned a bit and the steak and gravy needed a touch of salt, but I knew what to expect once entering the place and seeing their regular customers. When entering the guy at the front looked at me as if I was lost, which looking around I definitely did not fit in, but who cares I was there for the food. The food was delicious and plenty for the price I paid so I will go back. Just remember to have me a little salt to add."

"Miki's has been a cherished spot for my in-laws for many years. After the passing of my father-in-law last year, my mother-in-law, now in her 80s, still adores dining here. For her birthday, my wife decided to take her back to this beloved restaurant. This was my first visit, and I immediately understood its appeal. The restaurant is a small, cozy, simple, and casual place with a charming down-home atmosphere and down-home comfort food. I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon cake and my three veggie sides: broccoli, cucumber and onion, and cole slaw. The service was excellent--the food came out quickly, and the waitstaff was very attentive. Though I don't eat dessert, everyone else in our party of six raved about it--especially the amazing coconut cake--which, along with the strawberry cake (which sadly, they didn't have that day), is my family's favorite! I heard my mother and father-in-law talk about it many times over the years. The strawberry and coconut cakes might be what kept them going back! Based on this experience, I believe we will continue the tradition and make Miki's a go-to place for our family as well."

"Marty and I stopped by chance to have breakfast. Sorry I didn't get any pictures, but when our food came out we blessed it and literally dug into our food. Absolutely delicious. Definitely going back."
